In a heartbreaking incident that unfolded on Monday morning, a young woman lost her life after being struck by a cargo mini truck in front of Nav Appayan Sweet Shop on Shyamnagar Feeder Road within the jurisdiction of the Jagaddal police station.
The victim, identified as Supriya Kurmi, aged 22, hailed from Shyamnagar Vivekanandagarh. According to law enforcement authorities and local sources, Supriya was en route to work, just like any other day, when tragedy struck. A mini truck, loaded with sand, approached from behind and collided with her with significant force.
Concerned locals rushed Supriya to Bhatpara State General Hospital, where medical professionals, regrettably, pronounced her deceased. This unfortunate incident has sparked unrest along Shyamnagar Feeder Road, and an angry crowd detained the truck driver. Prompt police intervention from Jagaddal police station resulted in the driver's arrest and the impoundment of the truck.
